Occupational Therapist – Children with Disabilities

• →Assess children and young people to identify functional needs and develop effective intervention plans.
• →Recommend and arrange specialist equipment and minor adaptations.
• →Demonstrate the safe and effective use of equipment to parents and carers.
• →Assess the need for major home adaptations and guide families through the adaptation process.
• →Liaise with Grants Officers, surveyors, architects, builders, and other professionals to ensure adaptations meet assessed needs.
• →Complete housing needs reports to support medical priority housing applications.
• →Maintain accurate records, assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and reviews.
• →Attend multidisciplinary meetings and work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

• Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration
• Experience working with children with disabilities or complex needs
• Strong understanding of assistive equipment and housing adaptations
• Experience in functional and environmental assessments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage a caseload independently
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment
