Are you a skilled Occupational Therapist looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with disabilities?

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated Children with Disabilities Team in Wokingham. This role offers the opportunity to support children and families through specialist assessments, provision of equipment, and coordination of housing adaptations.

You will join a supportive multidisciplinary team, managing a varied and meaningful caseload focused on improving independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Assess children and young people to identify functional needs and develop effective intervention plans.
  • Recommend and arrange specialist equipment and minor adaptations.
  • Demonstrate the safe and effective use of equipment to parents and carers.
  • Assess the need for major home adaptations and guide families through the adaptation process.
  • Liaise with Grants Officers, surveyors, architects, builders, and other professionals to ensure adaptations meet assessed needs.
  • Complete housing needs reports to support medical priority housing applications.
  • Maintain accurate records, assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and reviews.
  • Attend multidisciplinary meetings and work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration
  • Experience working with children with disabilities or complex needs
  • Strong understanding of assistive equipment and housing adaptations
  • Experience in functional and environmental assessments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment
