 Job Summary:    The RICA Educational Advocacy (EA) Specialist Sr-Grant is responsible for coordinating and implementing school-based Educational Advocacy programming serving children, adolescents, and families through Loma Linda University Children's Hospital (LLUCH) RICA and affiliated community partnerships. This position functions as both a direct service provider and site-level program lead, maintaining a caseload of youth and families while supporting the delivery of educational advocacy, care coordination, outreach, and youth engagement services. Working within a trauma-informed, resilience-focused, and whole-person care framework, the Program Lead collaborates with school personnel, healthcare providers, families, and community partners to address social determinants of health (SDOH), support student success, and promote positive academic, behavioral, and social outcomes. The Program Lead serves as a primary liaison for assigned school sites, facilitates workshops and student engagement activities, supports curriculum implementation and program development, monitors participation and program outcomes, and ensures timely and accurate documentation in accordance with organizational, grant, and regulatory requirements. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience:    Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Counseling, Human Services, Communication, or related field required.   Minimum two years’ experience working with youth, families, healthcare, behavioral health, school-based programming, care coordination, or community based services required.   Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or alternative schedules to support programming is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:    Knowledge of patient advocacy models, and whole-person care approaches. Familiarity with Medi-Cal, IEHP, HIPPA, FERPA, mandated reporting, and confidentiality requirements.   Knowledge of school-based programming, youth development principles, and community partnership coordination.  Read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position.  Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction.  Think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision.  Distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.

Licensures and Certifications:  Valid driver’s license required.  Community Health Worker certification required.   Community Health Worker certification required.
