As a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, you will support the Mechanical Commissioning Lead in executing various Data Centre commissioning activities, ensuring the seamless operation of mechanical systems within the Data Centre. Your role involves close collaboration with the Mechanical Commissioning Lead, Project Manager (PM) and other client team stakeholders focusing on safety, efficiency, and accuracy.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assist in the execution of Level 2 (Component Level), Level 3 (System Level), Level 4 (Integration Level), and Level 5 (Performance Verification) commissioning activities.
- →Develop and execute test scripts for mechanical systems.
- →Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and infrastructure.
- →Ensure all commissioning activities are performed in compliance with project specifications and standards.
- →Provide daily updates on the status of test scripts, completed tasks, and identified issues.
- →Report progress and any challenges to the Mechanical Commissioning Lead and PM.
- →Ensure all issues and test results are documented.
- →Identify and troubleshoot issues that occur throughout testing and log them on the issue log.
- →Coordinate with the Mechanical Commissioning Lead, Electrical Lead, and other team members on daily activities and testing schedules.
- →Oversee vendor field coordination and manage Approved Personnel (APs).
- →Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of mechanical systems.
- →Adhere to all site safety procedures and protocols, ensuring a safety-conscious work environment.
- →Provide system-specific training and test script approvals for trainee staff.
- →Identify and mitigate potential safety risks during commissioning activities.
- Proficiency in developing and executing test scripts for various commissioning levels.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving mechanical issues.
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in testing and reporting.
- Effective communication skills for reporting daily activities and coordinating with team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including electrical and operations staff.
- Strong understanding of site safety procedures and protocols.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Mechanical Trade Qualification / Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred.
- Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.
