About Lucid
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the Maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability, uptime, and production continuity across the shop. This role supports new product introductions, production ramp-up, and steady-state operations by implementing robust preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, managing equipment readiness, and driving continuous improvement in maintenance performance. The position plays a critical role in achieving production KPIs, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of all equipment and systems.
o Maintenance Strategy and Execution:
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for GA equipment and production systems.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained to meet safety, quality, and operational standards.
• Oversee maintenance execution to maximize uptime and minimize unplanned downtime.
• Establish maintenance schedules aligned with production requirements and launch timelines.
o Equipment Readiness and Launch Support:
• Support new program launches by ensuring equipment installation, commissioning, and readiness.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering during equipment handover and validation phases.
• Ensure maintenance readiness for new product introduction and production ramp-up.
• Participate in equipment acceptance tests (SAT/FAT) and commissioning activities.
o Team Leadership and Resource Management:
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Maintenance Engineers, Technicians, and Specialists.
• Define priorities and allocate resources across shifts and production schedules.
• Build technical capability within the team to support advanced manufacturing systems.
• Drive accountability and performance management within the maintenance organization.
o Equipment Reliability and Continuous Improvement
• Monitor equipment performance and drive improvements in MTBF, MTTR, and overall reliability.
• Lead root cause analysis for equipment failures using structured problem-solving tools.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring breakdowns.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency and lifecycle.
o Performance and KPI Management
• Track and report maintenance KPIs including uptime, downtime, response time, and cost efficiency.
• Identify gaps in maintenance performance and implement improvement plans.
• Support production teams to achieve overall plant throughput and efficiency targets.
o Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Promote a strong safety culture within the maintenance team and across the GA shop.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
o Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Facilities teams.
• Support process improvements by ensuring equipment capability aligns with manufacturing needs.
• Provide technical input during design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and process development reviews.
o Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of automotive assembly equipment and systems
• Expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
• Understanding of PLC systems, automation, robotics, and control systems
• Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools
• Knowledge of equipment reliability metrics (MTBF, MTTR) and analysis techniques
o Personal Skills:
• Strong leadership and team development capability
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to manage high-pressure situations during production and launch phases
• Results-oriented with strong ownership and accountability Specific Requirements
• Flexibility to support off-shift and weekend activities during launch and ramp-up phases
• Experience supporting new product launches and commissioning activities preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in maintenance engineering or manufacturing operations within automotive or high-volume production environments
• Proven experience in equipment maintenance, reliability improvement, and production support
• Hands-on experience with maintenance systems, automation equipment, and troubleshooting
• Strong leadership experience managing technical teams in a manufacturing environment
