The Public Utilities Commission Emergency Services Communication Bureau is seeking a GIS Coordinator to support and maintain the GIS layers that are required by the NG9-1-1 system within the State of Maine. This position works with Municipal and/or County Addressing Officers to ensure the addresses, roads, and responder layers are up to date and accurate. This position is also responsible for providing training for the online maintenance request system, and Maine’s 9-1-1 addressing procedures.

This role blends technology, analysis, and real-world impact as you work alongside other GIS professionals and 9-1-1 trainers and analysts to make the system work reliably and efficiently.

Requirements
~1 min readA three (3) year combination of education, training, and/or experience directly related to the operation, development, and/or maintenance of GIS systems. The following skills and traits are equally necessary:
· Knowledge of Esri products like ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise Portal.
· Knowledge of resource analysis and sources of mapped and tabular data.
· Knowledge of relational database management systems and concepts.
· Knowledge of spatial analysis quality requirements.
· Knowledge of mapping reference and coordinate systems.
· Knowledge of design and operation of GIS.
· Knowledge of computer operating systems.
· Ability to transfer data from maps and other media by digitizing.
· Ability to communicate effectively.
· Ability to write clearly and effectively.
· Ability to organize, coordinate, and schedule computer and equipment use.
· Ability to interpret aerial photographs.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
· Valid Class C driver’s license
· Physical ability to drive or ride in a vehicle for up to 8 hours per day
