Responsibilities
~1 min read● Produce and edit original short- and long-form videos for social media, YouTube, podcasts, and other digital platforms
● Manage video projects from initial concept through recording, postproduction, and publication
● Produce MI podcasts, including guest coordination, recording, editing, quality control, and distribution
● Identify compelling moments from interviews, podcasts, events, and media appearances and turn them into highly shareable clips
● Develop visual treatments, hooks, pacing, captions, graphics, sound design, and other elements that help content capture attention
● Prepare studios and field-production setups, including cameras, lighting, microphones, and recording software
● Work closely with MI scholars, correspondents, and communications staff to translate complex ideas into clear and engaging content
● Track emerging formats, platform conventions, editing styles, and distribution strategies
● Maintain an efficient production calendar and turn around high-quality work on tight deadlines
● Help establish a consistent and recognizable visual identity for MI’s video and podcast programming
Requirements
~1 min read● Demonstrated experience producing and editing professional video content
● Advanced proficiency with tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or comparable software
● Experience producing podcasts or other interview-based programming
● Strong working knowledge of cameras, lighting, audio, studio production, and remote-recording technology
● A sophisticated understanding of what makes content perform on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, and other platforms
Applications must include a portfolio or reel demonstrating video-production and editing work. Applications submitted without work samples will not be considered.
$80,000 to $115,000 per year
