Registered Nurse (RN)-Outpatient Clinic Oncology-Full Time Days

Graduate of an accredited nursing program, associate's degree in nursing required. Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required. AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Responds to incoming calls requiring nursing assessment/triage, responding to emergent calls and/or written inquiries within 24 business hours and non-emergent within 48 business hours.
- →Utilizes the Telephone Triage for Oncology Nurses (3rd edition) guidelines for assessment.
- →Maintains triage nurse voicemail, checking voicemails every 4 hours during business hours.
- →Refers verbal and/or written inquires to appropriate resources giving complete and accurate information.
- →Assists in the coordination of direct patient care.
- →Documents all inquiries at the time of the call for medical, legal and statistical purposes.
- →Maintains confidentiality at all times with caller interactions.
- →Performs direct patient care to support clinic operations as needed.
- →Maintains a sense of ownership and accountability to the oncology clinic.
- →Maintains the medication sample log for inventory purposes and notifies the supervisor of any discrepancies.
- →Monitors and documents medication refrigerator temperature in the daily log.
- →Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
~2 min read- Graduate of an accredited nursing program, associate's degree in nursing required.
- Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required.
- AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
- Experience telephone triage experience with multi-provider practice OR 1 year of oncology experience, required.
- 2+ years of oncology experience, Preferred.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), Preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and team members.

Required
Physical Requirements: Constant (67-100% of workday) walking, standing, use of arms and hands; frequent (34-66% of workday) bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting; ability to lift 35 lbs.; ability to push and pull 20 lbs.; auditory and visual skills to include color determination; ability to work in confined spaces; ability to reach above/overhead.
Mental Requirements: Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team. Capacity to cope with difficult situations. Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Environmental Requirements and Exposure Hazards: Potential risk of exposure to radiation and toxic chemicals. Potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens; must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
*Clinical positions in Mary Washington Home Health and/or Hospice must also meet driving requirements.

Compensation Pay Range:
