Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is seeking motivated and mission driven candidates for the inaugural Honors Paralegal Program, a two-year rotational program designed to provide early career paralegals with hands-on legal experience in the largest public sector legal office in the Commonwealth.
Program Description:
The Paralegal Program is a two-year term that begins in September 2026 and ends in September 2028.
Through rotational assignments across multiple divisions and bureaus, the selected participant will gain hands on experience supporting legal teams working on issues that directly impact the people of Massachusetts.
Our work at the Attorney General's Office encompasses a variety of different practice areas including
civil rights, health care, consumer protection, environmental protection, criminal prosecution, fair labor, administrative law, data privacy, constitutional defense of the Commonwealth’s nation-leading laws,
and so much more. Given this broad array of essential public services, the selected participant will have the opportunity to explore and gain experience in a variety of practice areas over the course of the two-year program.
The program participant will receive training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities designed to strengthen their legal, analytical, and professional skills.
Under the supervision of attorneys and staff, paralegals may assist with:
- Legal research and writing
- Case management and document review
- Discovery and trial preparation
- Investigations and witness interviews
- Drafting subpoenas and legal documents
- Client and stakeholder communication
The program participant will complete three rotations through different areas of the office and will have the opportunity during their final rotation to seek continued employment with the Attorney General's Office.
The individual invited to participate in the Paralegal Program must commit to a two-year term.
Program Eligibility: Applicants must have completed one of the following programs between June 2025 and June 2026:
- A paralegal certificate program from an accredited institution; or
- An associate or bachelor's degree program in paralegal studies or legal studies.
Candidate Criteria: Paralegal Program candidates will be selected on the basis of several factors, including but not limited to:
- Demonstrated interest and desire to work in the public interest.
- Professional or personal experience related to the mission of the Attorney General’s Office.
- Knowledge or ability in legal areas such as legal research, discovery, trial preparation, case management systems, investigation, drafting subpoenas and other documents.
- Effective analytical, research, writing and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated engagement and leadership in school and/or community activities.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the people and communities we serve, and an interest in supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment.
Position Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt
Location: Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays for most positions. On in-office
days, employees are required to report to the Boston Office.

Selection Timeframe: Selected candidates will be invited for interviews in July 2026. Offers will be extended by August 2026.
Program Duration: Two-year term beginning September 2026.
Salary: $55,375
