Matrix Providers is seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist (RT) to support clinical operations at the World Trade Center Health Program William Street Clinic in New York City, NY.

This is a patient-facing clinical position working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide quality respiratory care and support to patients.

Responsibilities

  • →Provide respiratory care and clinical support within the scope of licensure and certification.
  • →Perform respiratory assessments, general respiratory care procedures, and diagnostic respiratory testing.
  • →Provide respiratory treatments and administer medications as permitted within the scope of practice.
  • →Support physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff with patient care.
  • →Identify changes in patient condition and promptly notify the provider.
  • →Provide appropriate support to patients experiencing acute medical needs while awaiting emergency medical services.
  • →Educate patients regarding respiratory conditions, treatments, and appropriate care.
  • →Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • →Follow all infection prevention and control, quality assurance, laboratory, HIPAA, and safety requirements.
  • →Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with federal, state, and organizational regulations.
  • →Practice safely and independently while following established policies and procedures.
  • →Assist with administrative and other site duties during periods of downtime.
  • →Maintain a professional, patient-focused approach at all times.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with an Associate’s Degree or equivalent
  • Certification by the National Board Respiratory Care as Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Valid and unrestricted NY state license in good standing
  • Current BLS or ACLS certification
  • 1+ years clinical experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working on a solutions-based team
  • Excellent social and therapeutic communications skills
  • Strong knowledge of infection prevention and control measures
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills are required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Ability to clearly communicate changes or concerns to management and colleagues
  • Must be a team player who works well with others
  • Possesses all the soft skills mentioned in the above section of Essential Functions
  • Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA and other state/federal healthcare requirements and regulations
  • Bilingual

The position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform activities including bending, crouching, kneeling, squatting, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, and handling medical equipment.

The position is patient-facing and requires adherence to strict infection prevention and control practices. The role may involve exposure to infectious diseases and bloodborne pathogens.
