Perform software/hardware updates to keep the test infrastructure ready for scheduled test drives and aligned to the required release configuration.
Maintain and configure testing procedures, special tools, and diagnostic equipment according to requirements.
Serve as the responsible test engineer for one or more infotainment feature clusters, partnering closely with project managers to support related infotainment projects.
Own assigned test cases with a focus on embedded infotainment features and functions.
Report defects promptly, including supporting documentation and traces, and communicate technical and quality issues identified during testing, validation, and verification.
Review work procedures and drive improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness and reduce cost.
Participate in meetings and scheduled test drives; organize meetings as needed.
Proactively identify unexpected issues, communicate impacts, and drive solutions to resolution.
Collaborate closely with team members to deliver results and overcome challenges.
Drive Mercedes-Benz prototype vehicles as a regular part of the role.
Travel domestically (10–15%) as required.
Bachelors of Science or the equivalent work experience in Electrical or Computer Engineering; Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field of study
3+ years of relevant work experience
Experience in the development or validation of both embedded and off-board systems in the automotive or consumer electronics industries, or similar experience
Advanced automotive knowledge
Basic knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and their functions
Ability to understand software and hardware requirements and vehicle architectures
Ability to plan individual testing strategy, execute test cases and report clear error descriptions
Experience in updating ECU’s as well as vehicle diagnostics and related tools
Structured and organized approach
Ability to remove and replace a infotainment head unit within the tight spaces of a vehicle environment
Valid Driver's License
R&D engineering experience with focus on connected vehicles
Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, Automotive Ethernet, Flexray, …)
Knowledge of agile and waterfall product development methods in the automotive industry
