Laboratory Technician I

• →Prepare samples for analysis
• →Determine the volume of samples
• →Clean laboratory glassware
• →Prepare reagents for lab use and/or shipment
• →Perform sample extractions
• →Maintain clean laboratory areas
• →Maintain organized records of sample preparation and analysis
• →Assist the Group Leaders and Analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
• →Work comfortably with chemicals, glassware, and tobacco/nicotine products
• →Remain flexible and handle changing priorities
• →Demonstrate attention to detail, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and a desire to work both as part of a team and independently
• →Comply with McKinney Specialty Labs Quality Assurance Program and other policies
• →Comply with McKinney Specialty Labs Health and Safety Plan
• →Perform other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director

• Prior laboratory experience preferred but not required as this is an entry level position
• Knowledge of analytical methods, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Good organizational skills and strong communication skills
