Middle School History and English Teacher

Meadowbrook Academy is currently seeking to hire a full-time Secondary History and English Teacher for the 26/27 school year. This individual should be an active and dedicated Christian who is, or willing to become, a member of Meadowbrook Church.  A person who will hold in confidence matters of information that may be sensitive to the well-being of others. QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited educational institution.  
• Certified OR working towards certification by the State of Florida.   

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:  

• Knowledge of child growth and development, especially of characteristics of early adolescent (middle school) learners.  
• Knowledge of current educational research and best practices for middle school students.
• Basic understanding and knowledge of current technology (Newline Smart Board).  
• Knowledge of learning styles and skill in using varied teaching methods to address student learning styles. 
• Skill in oral and written communication with students, parents, and others.  
• Ability to plan and implement activities for maximum student engagement and effectiveness.  
• Ability to effectively assess levels of student achievement, analyze test data, and adjusting instruction to improve learning outcomes.  
• Ability to maintain appropriate student supervision so that students have a safe, orderly, and Christ-centered learning environment.  
• Ability to work effectively with peers, administrators, and others.
