    Conduct daily job site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and opportunities for improvement.

    Work closely with construction crews, supervisors, subcontractors, and project management to promote safe work practices.

    Support compliance with applicable OSHA regulations, USACE safety requirements, and project-specific safety standards.

    Implement and maintain site-specific safety programs, policies, and procedures.

    Lead and participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and project safety orientations.

    Review and maintain employee safety training records and required documentation.

    Document safety observations, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.

    Assist with incident investigations, accident reporting, and the development of preventive measures.

    Participate in the development and implementation of Site-Specific Safety Plans.

    Review owner and contractor safety requirements to ensure project compliance.

  • →

    Develop positive working relationships with field personnel, project leadership, and outside agencies.

    Promote a proactive safety culture focused on hazard prevention and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction safety experience.

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.

  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.

    • Previous experience serving as a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO).

    • Experience supporting USACE or other federal construction projects.

    • Familiarity with USACE EM 385-1-1 safety requirements.

    • Experience developing or maintaining Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).

    Physical Requirements

    This is an active, field-based position requiring regular movement throughout an operating construction site. Candidates must be able to:

    • Stand, walk, bend, squat, and climb stairs or ladders throughout the workday.

    • Navigate uneven terrain and active construction environments.

    • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

    • Access elevated work platforms when necessary.

    • Occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

    • Perform essential safety inspections and observations, with or without reasonable accommodation.
