The Senior Principal Software Engineer will serve as the technical leader and be responsible for architecting, designing, building, and scaling embedded software for next generation medical device. This role combines deep hands-on engineering expertise with architectural leadership, technical decision-making, and mentorship.
The Senior Principal Engineer drives technical strategy, ensures engineering excellence, and partners closely with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions. In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Senior Principal Software Engineer role, this includes, but is not limited to the following:
- 10+ years of technical leadership experience
- Experience developing medical device software
- Strong expertise in programming languages (C++, Python, C#)
- Experience with various operating systems and tools - Linux OS, PetaLinux, Yocto, FreeRTOS
- Experience with Containers
- Strong knowledge of secure SDLC practices and software risk management
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline and minimum of 10 years of work experience OR advanced degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline with 8 years of work experience.
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems
- Familiarity with FPGA
- Experience in regulated or enterprise-scale environments
- Knowledge of cloud and connected medical devices
- Excellent collaboration skills across engineering, quality, and regulatory teams
- Pragmatic decision‑making that balances compliance, security, and delivery velocity
- Clear communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
