Software Engineer II – 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

• →Own well-scoped backend and services work from design through production.
• →Contribute to the design and implementation of larger features, services, and components in collaboration with other software engineers.
• →Write high-quality Python code and participate actively in code reviews.
• →Improve the testability, observability, reliability, and maintainability.
• →Apply established engineering standards and contribute to improving them, with a focus on clarity, scalability, and maintainability.
• →Collaborate with product, systems, QA, clinical/domain, and engineering partners to deliver reliable solutions.
• →Document technical decisions, interfaces, operational procedures, and relevant system context to support maintenance and handover.

• 4+ years of professional backend development experience, primarily using Python.
• Demonstrated commitment to software quality through effective code reviews and writing and maintaining unit, integration, and API-level tests using pytest.
• Strong hands-on experience with Django and Django REST Framework, including building and maintaining production services.
• Practical experience designing and evolving REST APIs, including validation, error handling, versioning, and backward compatibility.
• Ability to work effectively with ambiguity: clarifying requirements, breaking down complex problems, making progress with incomplete information, and adapting as requirements evolve.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and contribute effectively to knowledge transfer and project handovers.
• Must be willing to commute to London 2 to 3 days per week.

Interest in AI-assisted or agentic coding workflows, with good judgment around code review, testing, and responsible use of generated code; product experience with agentic coding tools is a plus.
