The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of the facilities on Midwestern University Glendale Campus.  This individual provides general assistance to all other departments/sections as needed.  This position will report to the Lead Building Technician. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 11:30pm.

Responsibilities

  • →Installs, maintains and repairs minor plumbing, electrical and structural systems campus-wide.
  • →Events and classroom setups such as setting up tables/chairs and opening/closing moveable walls.
  • →General maintenance of campus facilities to include:
    • →interior and exterior painting work.
    • →repair of interior/exterior floors and walls.
  • →Installs and removes outdoor signs, parking signs, traffic control barriers and overhead banners as required.
  • →Moves furniture, filing cabinets and desks, etc.
  • →Operates pick-up trucks.
  • →Operates and maintain power and hand tools.
  • →Cleans work areas, tools and equipment.
  • →Other duties as assigned.

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. One-year certificate from college or technical school desired.  1-2 years of building maintenance required.  Must have valid driver’s license is required.

Computer proficiency in MS Office Word.  Excel knowledge is desired.
