Mining Data Analyst(Onsite)

We are looking to add a Mining Data Analyst, Onsite to our Geosciences team in Chile, based in Iquique. Reporting to the Geosciences Manager, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics, a keen interest in data analysis within the mining industry, and exceptional communication and management skills. You will work directly with clients at mining operations to integrate MineSense solutions into their ore control processes and ensure maximum value is generated from them.
- Assist clients in utilizing MineSense technologies within their grade control, operations, planning, and processing workflows, including developing reports and presentations for clients.
- Provide technical advice to onsite clients for operational decision-making to maximize the value of MineSense technologies installed at the operation.
- Support the onsite deployment and adoption of new MineSense solutions as they are developed, focusing on expectation alignment, refinement of developments, and the use of generated data.
- Act as the primary point of contact for data-related requests, ensuring requirements are correctly addressed by different MineSense departments.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop prediction models by correlating mine grade measurements or estimates with our sensor results to identify patterns, trends, or other data characteristics related to grade, texture, mineralogy, or lithology.
- Work with the Field Service and Product Development teams to further improve our products and services through system data analysis and data quality assurance/control (QA/QC).
- Determine and track data model accuracy and precision by comparing against sampled assay grades or grade estimates.
- Report and present data results/trends to internal teams and external clients.
- Work closely with the Data Team to create queries, scripts, and reports while ensuring data is well-organized and maintained.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with our clients.
- Promote a positive company culture through the constant exchange of information, knowledge, and experiences, supporting the learning and development of colleagues.
- Contribute to coordination, business understanding, and company consolidation while promoting our culture.
- Comply with operational standards and procedures regarding quality, safety, health, and environment (HSEC), in accordance with our Program, Global Policies, Code of Conduct, current legal regulations, and values.
- Additional activities as occasionally required by your supervisor.
- Degree in Geology or Mining Engineering.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in the mining industry, focusing on ore control or geo-mine-metallurgical planning.
- Experience performing statistical data analysis or Data Science in a professional environment.
- Proficiency in data management and analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or other packages.
- Experience solving diverse problems through data analysis using quantitative approaches to generate better insights.
- Strong attention to detail and interest in problem-solving.
- Proficiency in English (oral and written).
- Availability to work on a 4x3 shift schedule at a mining site in the Tarapacá Region.
- Legally authorized to work in Chile.
