We're seeking someone to join the Technology Divisional Data Office (Tech DDO) as a Technology Data Governance Specialist to support the Tech DDO's role in the efficient adoption of AI tooling across Technology Operations and other data domains. By improving data organization, quality, and compliance with the Global Data Quality Policy, the role ensures stronger, more accurate data inputs for AI models. This position is vital to support data governance in Technology and enabling the division's broader data and AI strategy. In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Technology Data Governance Specialist position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for providing specialist data analysis and expertise that drive decision-making and business insights as well as crafting data pipelines, implementing datamodels, and optimizing data processes for improved data accuracy and accessibility, including applying machine learning and AI-based techniques. What you'll do in the role: * Execute the Technology Data Quality Risk Reduction Roadmap by identifying priority risk areas, associated use cases, and necessary data quality control requirements * Perform deep dive analysis on multi-layered data flows, technical processes, and system architectures to assess data quality risks and ownership * Facilitate governance processes across Technology, Enterprise Fraud, and Firm Resilience, ensuring adherence to the Global Data Quality Policy * Lead and coordinate end to end metadata cataloguing activities within the Firmwide Data Catalog (Collibra), including business ownership and annual re attestation workflows * Build ample, trust based partnerships with SMEs and senior stakeholders across Technology, Firmwide Data Office, other Divisional DDOs, and Non Financial Risk * Contribute to a high performing, multi region team that values diversity of perspectives and collaboration across time zones * Apply generative AI tools including Copilot, ChatGPT, and LLM enabled capabilities to enhance evaluation, streamline processes, improve customer experience, and drive operational efficiency What you’ll bring to the role: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT, Engineering or related field * 6+ years in financial services, technology, or data governance roles * Good business analysis skills with the ability to dive deep into details while keeping sight of cross functional implications * Outstanding problem solving abilities and persistence in driving issues to completion * Solid experience with at least one database technology (relational or NoSQL), such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB or equivalent * Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to synthesize highly detailed information * Remarkable relationship building and stakeholder management skills across business and technology * Experience with data cataloguing tools, ideally Collibra, and an understanding of data lineage * Knowledge of data governance frameworks, technology controls, and related industry standards * Strong Excel (pivots, formulas, macros) and SQL skills * Experience with prompt engineering and building agents with AI tools such as Co-Pilot and ChatGPT is a plus * Familiarity with regulatory data requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, AML, KYC) is a considerable advantage #LI-hybrid #LI-RG1 WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
