Responsibilities
~1 min readAs an intern, you will be immersed in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, performing a mix of fieldwork, data analysis, report writing, and database maintenance. You will actively contribute to operational success through the following responsibilities:
- →Learn and develop key industrial process control skills to assist site subject matter experts
- →Complete process control projects targeted at reducing operational variability to improve key metrics like recovery
- →Work closely with operations and the process engineering teams to identify areas for improvement and propose solutions
- →Support circuit optimization efforts, including field checks, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking, and performance monitoring to sustain operational success.
- →Conduct field checks and contribute to system validation for new projects.
- →Participate in site safety initiatives by engaging in the behavior-based safety program, near-miss reporting, and risk reduction projects.
- →Develop and implement online production monitoring dashboards using PI visualization tool.
- →Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.
- →Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.
- →Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.
- Pursuing a bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or other applicable disciplines.
- Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
- Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
- Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
- Basic computer skills are required
- Eagerness to learn new skills and develop as an engineer
- Experience working in a team environment is a must
- Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
- Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
