About the role
Refuelling is one of the most strategically important parts of Moto’s business — covering both our traditional fuel estate and our rapidly growing EV charging network.
As Head of Finance – Refuelling, you’ll be the senior finance lead for this critical area, owning the end‑to‑end Refuelling P&L and playing a key role in shaping how Moto measures performance, invests for the future, and tells its refuelling story to senior leadership, shareholders and the Board.
This is a highly visible, influential role that blends strong financial governance with commercial curiosity and strategic thinking, supporting Moto’s transition towards integrated, future‑focused refuelling.
What we offer:
Up to 25% annual company performance related bonus
Car allowance
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Private medical insurance
Contributory pension scheme
Family discount scheme across Moto sites
The role
As the finance lead for Refuelling, you’ll have full ownership of the P&L across both fuel and EV. You’ll partner closely with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Trading and EV, providing clear, insightful reporting that helps drive better decisions at every level — right up to Exec and Board.
This role blends strong financial control with commercial thinking, and would suit someone who is just as comfortable challenging assumptions as they are rolling up their sleeves to deliver.
What you’ll be doing

Managing and developing a high-performing finance team
Delivering clear, actionable reporting and insight for senior leadership
Owning budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning
Partnering on major investment decisions, including EV expansion and infrastructure

Ensuring robust governance, controls and compliance across all refuelling activity
Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Fuel and EV
About you
You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with significant post‑qualification experience at Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller level, ideally within consumer, retail, energy, fuel or multi‑site businesses.
You’ll also bring:
Strong experience of end‑to‑end financial control, forecasting and commercial analysis.
A proven track record of leading and developing finance teams.
The ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insight.
Confidence influencing senior stakeholders and operating at Exec and Board level.
A hands‑on, pragmatic approach that fits Moto’s straightforward, delivery‑focused culture.
Curiosity about the future of energy and a genuine interest in supporting Moto’s EV growth.
Why join Moto?
At Moto, we’re transforming how the UK travels — and refuelling is at the heart of that journey. This role gives you the opportunity to shape a critical part of our future, influence major investment decisions, and play a meaningful role in our transition towards integrated, sustainable energy solutions.
You’ll join a collaborative, straightforward culture where people are trusted to deliver, supported to grow, and encouraged to make a real impact.
