On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.
The Data Scientist will develop and apply statistical, machine-learning, and computational methods for the analysis of biological datasets, including single-cell and spatial transcriptomic data. The position will also involve the development and implementation of mathematical and computational models of cellular behavior and cell-cell interactions and the integration of complex biological datasets into predictive models. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with members of the research group and with experimental and computational collaborators.
Responsibilities

- →Analyze single-cell and spatial transcriptomic data.
- →Develop mathematical and computational models of cellular behavior and biological networks.
- →Integrate multiple datasets and computational approaches into predictive models.
- →Develop, document, and maintain computational analysis pipelines.
- →Collaborate with researchers from physics, computational science, and biomedical sciences.
- →Contribute to the interpretation and presentation of research results.
Requirements
~1 min readMaster's degree in Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computational Science, Data Science, or a closely related quantitative field.
Demonstrated experience with scientific programming and quantitative data analysis.
Experience with programming languages commonly used for scientific computing and data analysis, such as Python, R, Julia, or equivalent.
Ph.D. in Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computational Science, Data Science, or a closely related quantitative field.
Experience with one or more of the following is desirable:
- Machine learning and statistical modeling
- Single-cell RNA sequencing or spatial transcriptomics
- Computational biology or bioinformatics
- Mathematical modeling of biological systems
- Network analysis
- Scientific computing and analysis of large datasets
Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment are also desirable.
