The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

 

This position will be responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of MUFG’s governance and oversight framework for consistent financial crimes compliance (“FCC”) risk management across the enterprise (both within and outside Japan). In this role, the successful candidate will work with various functions across lines of business, entities, and jurisdictions and will manage key elements of MUFG’s global FCC risk management framework. The role will predominantly encompass governance and oversight of MUFG Group entities in Japan, including those engaged in the securities, credit card and consumer finance businesses.

 

Responsibilities

  • →Maintaining MUFG’s FCC policy implementation framework and supporting execution of FCC risk management activities across the enterprise;
  • →Supporting alignment efforts across the enterprise to help ensure that MUFG entities manage their financial crimes risks consistently and effectively;
  • →Aggregating and analyzing reporting that the MUFG entities provide and recommending next steps, as appropriate;
  • →Coordinating and supporting interactions between MUFG entities and Head Office, including administering information-sharing protocols and coordination mechanisms so that different MUFG entities can share financial crimes risk management information with Head Office and other MUFG entities;
  • →Assisting with the coordination of preparations for the FATF 5th-round Mutual Evaluation of Japan;
  • →Assisting FCC SMEs with reviewing information received from the MUFG entities and supporting alignment efforts;
  • →Developing and maintaining working relationships with vertical and horizontal partners, including both in the US and Japan.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 7-8 years’ experience in banking or other financial institution setting, with a focus on enterprise risk management or compliance risk management;
  • Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements in the financial crimes compliance space;  
  • Strong writing and comprehension skills;
  • Experience in program governance/oversight design for large financial organizations, including management of governance documents;
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities;
  • Team player and ability to work collaboratively;
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships across multiple departments;

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (CoPilot, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 

The typical base pay range for this role is between $122K - $166K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
