Responsibilities

  • →Provide nursing care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures
  • →Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures
  • →Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status
  • →Provide moderate sedation according to established policy and competency
  • →Prepare patients, sterile fields, equipment, and supplies for procedures
  • →Recognize subtle changes in patient condition and respond quickly to cardiac emergencies
  • →Assist with emergency interventions, including defibrillation and temporary pacing
  • →Educate and reassure patients and families throughout their procedural experience
  • →Collaborate closely with Cardiologists and the multidisciplinary Cath Lab team
  • →Promote exceptional patient safety, quality, and efficient procedural care

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current South Carolina or Compact State RN license
  • Current BLS and ACLS
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac physiology/pathology, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and physiologic monitoring

  • 2 years of Critical Care or Emergency Department RN experience
    OR
  • 2 years of Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology RN experience
    OR
  • 1 year of Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience
