The Certified Nursing Assistant works under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The CNA performs multi-skilled duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the patient.
Assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Assists patients with personal hygiene, dressing, walking. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures. May serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse.
This is a PRN as-needed position, you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.
Minimum Education: A high school diploma or GED required. At least one year of patient care experience in a health care facility or as CNA is preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, and Registrations: Currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina; must be current in the Nurse Aide Registry. Will be required to maintain American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained before seeing patients.
