The James B. The James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Reconstructive & Rehabilitation Sciences. The preferred candidate would be a prosthodontist, graduate of an AEGD/GPR program or a general dentist well experienced in removable prosthodontics. The position would involve providing classroom and clinical instruction for pre-doctoral dental students in fixed and removable prosthodontics, as well as potentially implant prosthodontics and the AEGD residency program. The faculty member will work collaboratively within all disciplines of the department and other departments of the James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine.  

Qualified candidates must hold a DDS or DMD degree. Experience in educational innovation, use of technology in education and computer skills are expected with preference given to those with previous teaching and research experience.  Successful applicant should have a South Carolina Dental License or qualify for a teaching license.  Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience. Participation in the Dental Faculty Practice for private patient care is anticipated

(Frequent) Possess good finger dexterity. (Continuous) Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions. (Continuous) Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs., unassisted. (Infrequent) Ability to lift objects, up to 15 lbs., from floor level to height of 36 inches, unassisted. (Infrequent) Ability to lower objects, up to 15 lbs., from height of 36 inches to floor level, unassisted. (Infrequent) Ability to push/pull objects, up to 15 lbs., unassisted. (Infrequent) Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand. (Frequent) Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance. (Frequent) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (Frequent)
