Machine Operator I - Trimmer-Driller - 2nd Shift

The Machine Operator I is responsible for performing the essential manufacturing steps of part trimming and drilling, meeting daily production needs in manufacturing quality parts.

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

• →Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• →Trim plated parts to print specifications utilizing manual and programmable Lathes.
• →Core drill parts using equipment including manual drill presses, lathes and programmable HAAS Drilling machines
• →Program HAAS machines for drilling operations.
• →Performs preventative maintenance including fluid changes, lubrication and cleaning of machines when needed/directed by the Lead / Supervisor
• →Accurately record production information on paper travellers and in the ERP system
• →Maintains a clean machine and organized work area.
• →Makes minor repairs and notifies maintenance for other maintenance needs.
• →Performs variety of tasks such as counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, transferring of parts
• →Use measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances
• →Follows schedules and procedures
• →Adaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-training
• →Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition
• →Assists other operators if necessary
• →Inspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in Quality or work instructions. Responsible for quality of own work; required to notify Supervisor or Lead if quality requirement is unclear or questionable
• →All other duties as assigned

• Must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specification sheets, and/or mechanical drawings and in precision measurement or become proficient through training.
• Computer literacy

• Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, comparator, height gauge, etc.
• Capable of using hand tools (i.e. screwdriver, wrenches etc.)
• Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

$18.00 - $21.00/Hour based on experience and ability to perform work independently.  2nd shift will receive a 10% shift premium.
