Description

The Commercial Portfolio Manager II is responsible for the independent management and administration of assigned C&I commercial relationships. This role partners closely with Commercial Relationship Managers and Credit Administration to support portfolio quality, identify emerging risks and deliver responsive service to borrowers.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Independently manages assigned portfolio relationships and ongoing servicing requirements.
  • Monitors portfolio performance, covenant compliance, financial reporting requirements, and credit quality.
  • Evaluates emerging risks and recommends risk rating changes and corrective actions when appropriate.
  • Ensures portfolio compliance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs independent financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, global cash flow analysis, commercial real estate cash flow analysis, and credit risk assessment. 
  • Analyzes property operating statements, rent rolls, occupancy trends, debt service coverage, and collateral performance to evaluate credit quality. 
  • Assists in structuring and underwriting commercial real estate lending transactions, including owner-occupied, investor, acquisition, refinance, and construction lending opportunities.
  • Prepares annual reviews, renewals, modifications, and credit approval packages for assigned relationships.
  • Assists in structuring credit facilities and developing recommendations for routine and moderately complex transactions.
  • Develops market, property, and borrower-specific risk assessments to support credit decisions. 
  • Serves as the primary portfolio contact for assigned borrowers regarding financial reporting, covenant compliance, renewals, and servicing matters.
  • Participates in customer meetings and site visits and supports relationship development efforts.
  • Coordinates with Commercial Relationship Managers to identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships.
  •  Assists in evaluating and underwriting new commercial real estate lending opportunities. 
  • Prepares term sheets, commitment letters, and supporting documentation for new and existing relationships.
  • Supports portfolio growth initiatives through proactive borrower engagement and relationship support.
  • Provides guidance and support to less experienced Portfolio Managers and analysts.
  • Demonstrates increasing expertise in commercial credit, portfolio management, and relationship management practices.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) to six (6) years of commercial banking, credit analysis, portfolio management, or related experience.
  •  Strong knowledge of commercial credit underwriting, financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, commercial real estate underwriting principles, and loan documentation. 
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate valuation concepts, lease analysis, debt service coverage, collateral evaluation, and commercial real estate market fundamentals preferred. 
  • Ability to independently evaluate borrower performance and credit risk.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship management and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience supporting commercial real estate loan portfolios, including investor and owner-occupied properties. 
  • Experience analyzing commercial property cash flow, rent rolls, appraisals and collateral performance.

This position is an office-based position in terms of physical demand. Employees are expected to be able to operate their fingers and hands to perform functions such as typing, writing, and filing. Employees must also be able to move throughout the office with ease while also being able to sit for extended periods of time. Employees must be able to see and hear in an office setting that does include much noise going on around one’s workspace. While this job is mainly clerical, there are instances in which employees must be able to transport up to 20 pounds.

The pay range for this position is based on the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this position at the time of this posting. Actual pay will depend upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, business or organizational needs, affordability and market pay. The posted range may be modified in the future as market data or organizational priorities change.
