Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Own employee relations across all sites. Serve as the primary HR contact for associates, leads, supervisors, and site managers at every warehouse. Coach leaders through performance issues, corrective action, and separations so decisions are consistent, documented, and defensible.
- →Lead workplace investigations. Conduct timely, impartial investigations into complaints of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, safety concerns, and policy violations; document findings and recommendations, and partner with Legal on escalated or high-risk matters.
- →Drive multi-state compliance. Keep each site compliant with federal and state requirements — including California meal/rest break, overtime, and leave rules, Cal/OSHA and workplace violence prevention obligations, and Indiana and Texas requirements. Run periodic audits of timekeeping and break practices, postings, and site-level policies, and remediate gaps.
- →Run site HR operations. Oversee onboarding and I-9/E-Verify, attendance policy administration, leave of absence and ADA interactive process, workers' compensation coordination, and offboarding for the warehouse population.
- →Support workforce planning and peak readiness. Partner with operations on headcount planning, peak-season ramp-up, and oversight of staffing agency partners, including temp-to-hire conversion and agency compliance.
- →Improve retention and engagement. Analyze turnover and absenteeism by site and shift; lead stay and exit interviews, and implement targeted engagement and recognition programs that keep good associates.
- →Build supervisor capability. Train frontline supervisors and leads on documentation, fair treatment, and escalation; ensure required harassment-prevention and safety-related trainings are completed and tracked.
- →Stand up HR for new sites. Lead the HR workstream for the Texas site: hiring plan, state registrations and postings, policy addenda, and coordination with Payroll/HRIS and Benefits so the site opens fully compliant. Build a repeatable site-launch playbook for future locations.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years supporting a large hourly workforce in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing.
- Track record of conducting workplace investigations and managing employee relations cases from intake through resolution.
- Solid working knowledge of California employment law (wage and hour, leaves, Cal/OSHA), plus experience applying requirements across multiple states.
- Hands-on experience with leave administration, the ADA interactive process, and workers' compensation coordination.
- Proficiency with HRIS and timekeeping systems; strong documentation and reporting habits.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
