Specialist DevOps Engineer, Actimize (AWS, PostgreSQL)

So, what's the role all about?

As a DevOps Engineer specializing in Database Reliability with 8-12 years of experience, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation and reliability solutions to support the stability and performance of our data platforms in our Azure SaaS environment. You will work closely with Platform Engineering, SRE, Cloud Operations, and R&D teams to build infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and self-healing automation that keep our data services scalable, observable, and resilient. Your mission is to bring DevOps engineering rigor — automation, infrastructure as code, and reliability engineering — to the way we operate and evolve our database platforms, ensuring our cloud-native offerings enable efficient development at scale.

How will you make an impact?

• Own availability, reliability, scalability, and performance of production and non-production database platforms through automation-first practices.
• Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu) for provisioning, configuring, and managing AWS RDS (PostgreSQL), Aurora, DynamoDB, and Amazon OpenSearch environments.
• Build and automate backup, restore, high-availability, and disaster-recovery pipelines as code.
• Lead investigation and resolution of infrastructure and database-related incidents, and drive post-incident reviews with a systems/automation lens.
• Partner with Platform Engineering and SRE to define standards, golden paths, and best practices for database lifecycle management.
• Build secure, scalable, self-service data platform workflows for application teams via CI/CD and GitOps pipelines.
• Build and maintain observability for data platforms using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry — metrics, logs, and alerting.
• Support performance tuning, capacity planning, and query optimization efforts in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Drive automation of provisioning and operations across the stack using Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practices.
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and data governance requirements through automated policy and guardrails.

Must-have:

• AWS (RDS, Aurora, IAM, Networking, Monitoring)
• PostgreSQL
• Terraform / OpenTofu

Also required:

• Kubernetes (EKS)
• Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry
• CI/CD and GitOps pipelines

You will have an advantage if you also have:

• Knowledge of Amazon OpenSearch or similar search technologies.
• Background in time-series data platforms.
• Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
• Kubernetes-native database operation experience.
