The VA Processor I, Government Funding Programs School Certifying Official (SCO) prepares and processes military funds, for current learners, in accordance with VA regulations. The incumbent ensures accurate certification of enrollment, compliance with VA regulations, and high-quality support to military learners. The SCO helps veterans and eligible dependents navigate benefits, maintains compliance documentation, and ensures institutional adherence to federal regulations.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Certify student enrollments, term dates, credit loads, tuition & fees, and changes using VA system (Enrollment Manager).
- →Report all enrollment changes within VA‑required timelines (withdrawals, drops, program changes, attendance changes).
- →Monitor student schedules to identify changes that affect VA payments.
- →Submit tuition and fee adjustments promptly to prevent overpayments.
- →Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations governing VA education benefits.
- →Maintain accurate institutional policies regarding VA benefits, prior credit evaluation, SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress), and program integrity.
- →Support learners in understanding consequences of enrollment changes.
- →Complete mandatory VA SCO training (initial and annual).
- →Maintain currency on VA regulatory updates and Enrollment Manager system changes.
- →Coordinate with academic advising, bursar, financial aid, registrar, and other offices to ensure students receive accurate and timely benefit information.
- →Participates in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise.
Requirements

- At least one year of experience in a professional environment that is highly regulated, including finance and higher education.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Federal Student Aid and/or military funding is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Strong attention to detail.
