Senior Business Analyst - Data Migration

SUMMARY: * The successful candidate will be a valued member of the business stakeholders’ team in a core banking transformation project and will be responsible for ensuring that business requirements related to data migration are captured, validated and business use cases are documented. * They are expected to plan, implement, and manage the migration of data from the legacy systems to the new system software/applications. * They play a key role in liaising with Business and Technology team to realise the data migration requirements, while enabling best in class customer experiences aligned to Bank’s ambitions. Team members must bring a range of skills and knowledge to the team. Some of the critical skills and competencies for data migration include: WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO: * Has high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, logical thinking with data protection acumen. * Has good experience in handling various complex data migration projects in a banking domain preferably in lending space. * Has experience working in Flex cube and Temenos. * Has good working knowledge of database systems, design, and management. * Has experience in working with large data in variety of formats, tables, and structures. * Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to recognize patterns in the data set and structure. * Has the ability to evaluate the data sources and foresee obstacles that the data might cause during the migration process. * Has the ability to clearly document the data migration strategy, present it to the relevant stakeholders for review and sign off within the given timeframe. * Has extensively worked in data clean-up activities such as identifying and correcting/removing errors, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies in the data set, table, database, and improving its quality and usability. * Has experience in pre-migration planning process, defining migration scope, and verified destination system data requirements. * Has involved in data migration planning and design reviews, conducted formal review meetings with the stakeholders, and implemented migration testing strategies. * Has experience in designing migration test strategy and identify the right tool for testing such as automated tool to compare source and destination data. * Has managed post migration testing and verification of migrated data to the new system. YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW US THAT YOU CAN: * Manage and engage with multiple stakeholders across various levels cutting across multiple departments in the bank. * Effectively manage data migration process and procedures with complex data structures and tables. * Proven track record of business engagement and of being the link between business and technical communities. * Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate key issues, risks and challenges backed up with strong data evidence. * Define overall migration requirements and recommend appropriate solution, modifications, configurations, and processes. * Develop and propose data migration best practices and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines. * Have a methodical and logical approach to migration planning, organization, and progress monitoring. * Drives the development and execution of migration plans by closely working with the project team to define, sequence, and estimate duration of migration activities and determine schedules to meet objectives. * Manages the identification, resolution and escalation of migration risks and issues. * Proven ability to provide technical guidance and assistance to colleagues and the strategic partner(s) as appropriate.
