Join the NVFS Family:  We are looking to hire a Bilingual Mental Health Counselor to join the NVFS Youth Initiatives team's Violence Prevention/Intervention and Family Reunification programs.

In this role, you will provide individual, family, and group therapy to children, youth, and families whose lives have been impacted by trauma, violence, family separation, immigration-related stressors, and other behavioral health concerns.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for clinicians who are building their professional practice and working toward social work or other applicable clinical licensure.  You will receive regular clinical supervision, case consultation, and opportunities for professional development while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.

This position has a salary range in the low 60s and follows a hybrid work schedule.

Bring Services Into the Community

Practice With Cultural Humility

  • Engage clients and families as partners in identifying their strengths, needs, and goals.
  • Recognize the impact of culture, immigration experiences, family separation, poverty, violence, and other systemic factors on mental health and family well-being.

  • Maintain confidential client records in accordance with professional standards, licensing requirements, and NVFS policies.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to safety concerns, behavioral health crises, abuse or neglect, family violence, and other situations requiring intervention.
  • Fulfill mandated reporting responsibilities and participate in critical incident review and follow-up processes.
  • Prepare required statistical, outcome, and narrative reports.

Grow as a Clinician

  • Participate in regular individual clinical and administrative supervision and group supervision.
  • Engage in case consultation, reflective practice, and professional development.
  • Apply supervision and feedback to strengthen clinical practice and improve client outcomes.
  • Participate in program and agency meetings, trainings, committees, and other professional activities.
