Maintenance Technician Part-time

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-time (3 days) Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team operations across two properties; Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam North Riverside and Holiday Inn Express Almere. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and take pride in delivering exceptional customer service, this role is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills. Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, you will contribute to maintaining the hotel at its highest operational standards, ensuring smooth functionality.
The ideal candidate will actively support the implementation of brand standards, foster teamwork, and uphold high levels of productivity and quality in all tasks performed.
Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests professionally and efficiently.
Perform basic repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
Troubleshoot and repair guest room items such as lights, TVs, toilets, A/C units, and appliances.
Carry and safely use a variety of hand and power tools.
Assist with painting, drywall patching, carpentry, and surface repair when needed.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities.
Monitor and log readings for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
Replace air filters, clean equipment, and ensure systems run efficiently.
Report major issues to the Cluster Maintenance Manager and assist with repair planning.
Follow all hotel safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Ensure compliance with fire safety and building regulations.
Properly store tools, chemicals, and flammable materials.
Report any hazards, accidents, or unsafe conditions promptly.
Maintain engineering tools and parts inventory.
Request needed supplies through the appropriate channels.
Identify and operate main shut-off valves for water, gas, and electrical systems.
Work closely with other departments to support smooth operations.
Provide technical support for guest comfort and safety (e.g., fixing TVs, ACs, Wi-Fi issues).
Communicate clearly with guests and staff when performing repairs in occupied areas.
Assist during emergencies such as power outages, floods, or equipment failures.
Use hotel software or logs to communicate between shifts.
Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the Cluster Maintenance Manager.
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred.
Previous maintenance experience in a hotel or similar environment.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems.
Knowledge of English and/or Dutch, both written and spoken.
Positive, guest-focused attitude with a professional demeanor.
Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
