The City of O'Fallon is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Recreation Program Manager to join the team at the Renaud Center. This position is responsible for coordinating, developing, and managing recreation programming and special events across multiple program areas, with a focus on creating engaging, high-quality recreational opportunities for the community.

Responsibilities

  • →Develop, organize, manage, and evaluate recreation programs and special events.
  • →Oversee the planning and implementation of youth and adult recreation programs.
  • →Oversee all aspects of recreational sports.
  • →Recruit, hire, train, coach, supervise, and evaluate full- and part-time staff.
  • →Develop, monitor, and manage program budgets.
  • →Develop formal bids for programs and projects.
  • →Oversee front desk operations at the Renaud Center.
  • →Manage recreation programming through RecTrac.
  • →Coordinate information related to recreation facility reservations.
  • →Compile, analyze, and maintain program, staffing, and financial data.
  • →Coordinate required training for assigned program areas.
  • →Respond to customer concerns and assist staff with resolving complaints.
  • →Assist with oversight of recreation complex operations as assigned.
  • →Promote inclusive recreation opportunities and ensure awareness of ADA compliance requirements.
  • →Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
  • →Recommend policy and operational improvements.
  • →Perform other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of recreation program development and implementation, supervisory practices, facility operations, and municipal policies and procedures, including purchasing and budgeting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a comparable level of education and experience.
  • Five or more years of related experience sufficient to understand the duties of the position and effectively supervise subordinate staff.
  • Valid Missouri driver's license or the ability to obtain one.
  • CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience with youth programming.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP).
  • CPR and First Aid Instructor certification.
