The Access Essentials organization drives Okta's core mission by designing and delivering robust authentication and authorization solutions across all Okta-protected resources. Our goal is to empower organizations with frictionless, highly secure access experiences. By engineering scalable cloud services and advanced client software, we enable seamless device logins and enforce strong authentication standards across enterprise applications. As an Architect in this group, you will play a pivotal role in shaping next-generation identity and security architectures. You will solve complex, high-impact technical challenges, define long-term product strategy, and elevate our engineering standards while navigating a fast-moving cybersecurity landscape.

• Strong hands-on experience designing &  developing enterprise software using Java with Springboot
• Deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, server-side technologies and distributed system concepts(caching, asynchronous processing, multi-threading)
• Strong experience working with relational databases, ideally MySQL, PostgreSQL or GraphDB
• Skilled in debugging and troubleshooting complex java codebase 
• Passionate about writing clean, maintainable and scalable code with a deep focus on security
• Solid experience with cloud infrastructure platforms particularly AWS and GCP 
• Proven experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to work with cross-functional(Product/Design/Quality) stakeholders across multiple geo-locations
• Prior experience as an Architect/Technical Lead leading large scale architectural initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 18+ years of software development experience, with at least 12+ years of experience designing and building enterprise grade software using Java at scale
