The Pupil will support the Legal & Company Secretariat function in providing legal and governance support to the business. The role will provide practical exposure to a broad range of corporate, commercial, regulatory, insurance, pensions and company secretarial matters within a leading financial services organisation.
The Pupil will work closely with members of the Legal & Company Secretariat team and relevant business units, with appropriate guidance and supervision, and will be expected to develop a sound understanding of the legal and regulatory environment within which the business operates.

- Assist in the review, drafting and management of commercial contracts, agreements and other legal documentation.
- Assist the Legal & Company Secretariat team with day-to-day legal and commercial matters arising across the business.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on corporate, commercial, insurance, pensions, regulatory and other relevant legal matters.
- Assist in preparing legal opinions, memoranda, reports, correspondence and other legal documents.
- Review and assist with agreements relating to procurement, vendors, employment, confidentiality and other business arrangements.
- Assist with corporate governance and company secretarial matters, including the preparation of Board and Committee papers, resolutions, minutes and statutory documentation.
- Support regulatory and statutory compliance activities, including relevant filings and regulatory correspondence.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory and other legal developments relevant to the business and assist in identifying their potential implications.
- Assist in the management and coordination of legal matters, including engagement with external legal advisers where required.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of contracts, legal documents, correspondence and other matters handled by the Legal & Company Secretariat function.
- Collaborate with business units and other stakeholders to support the timely resolution of legal and governance matters.
- Undertake other legal and governance-related responsibilities as may be assigned by the Legal & Company Secretariat team.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized university.
- Successful completion of the Ghana School of Law professional law programme.
- Must have been called to the Ghana Bar in 2026 or be scheduled to be enrolled to the Ghana Bar in October 2026.
- Demonstrated interest in corporate, commercial, regulatory and/or financial services law.
- Good knowledge of Ghanaian corporate, commercial and contract law.
- Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills.
- Ability to understand legal issues and apply legal principles to practical business matters.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Professionalism, integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Receptiveness to guidance and feedback, with a commitment to developing sound practical and commercial legal judgement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
