Your mission:

As an Entry-Level AI Engineer, you will work closely with our Product, Engineering, and Security teams to contribute to the development and maintenance of Agentic AI solutions that power our MDR platform, ION. You will support the building and upkeep of intelligent systems that enhance threat detection, automation, and decision-making. This is a role where you'll grow from maintaining and contributing to production AI systems toward taking on greater design ownership over time. 

Your first three months at Ontinue: 

• Connect with Product Managers, Engineers, and Security Analysts to understand Ontinue's vision for AI-driven MDR. 

• Familiarize yourself with ION, Ontinue's Microsoft-based MDR platform, and in particular the Agentic AI Platform Ontinue develops and maintains. 

• Contribute to production bug resolution, debugging, and incremental feature development across existing Agentic AI workflows and data pipelines. 

• Begin to understand Ontinue's value proposition and identify opportunities where AI capabilities can make a real difference. 

Must‑have: 

• A curious, self-motivated attitude toward problem-solving and a genuine interest in AI and its real-world applications. 

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience contributing to or maintaining AI or software systems in a production environment. 

• Solid Python skills, with some exposure to data libraries and AI/ML frameworks (e.g. LangChain/LangGraph, scikit-learn, HuggingFace, or similar). 

• Good software engineering fundamentals: object-oriented programming, debugging, testing, and writing clean, maintainable code. 

• Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) or generative AI, and an enthusiasm to go deeper. 

• Exposure to cloud environments (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP welcome, not strictly required to have built production cloud infrastructure, but comfortable working within it.) 

• Developing communication skills, with a willingness to explain your work clearly to teammates from different backgrounds. 

Nice‑to‑have: 

• Experience with agentic AI frameworks or workflow automation tools. 

• Familiarity with Azure Foundry, Cognitive Services, AI Gateway, or other cloud-native AI services. 

• Any exposure to cybersecurity tooling or security operations contexts (not required, but a bonus).
