We're growing our team and are looking for a Field Engineer to join us in the UK and work across our European projects. We welcome applications from engineers currently based in Brazil who want to relocate to the UK and build an international career in renewable energy.
You'll give wind farm operations and maintenance teams critical advice on the condition of their assets, with a focus on main bearings and gearboxes, so they can keep their turbines running efficiently and safely. Projects are offshore and onshore across Europe, so there's plenty of variety and travel.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Conduct asset integrity inspections, including those on offshore and European wind farms, ensuring that equipment is performing at its best.
- →Install hardware systems such as condition monitoring equipment on wind turbines, playing a hands-on role in enhancing turbine performance.
- →Manage larger sensor installation projects, including preparation of RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statements), and coordinate subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
- →Support failure analysis and various consulting projects by providing on-site field engineering expertise.
- →Prepare and deliver high-quality customer reports based on your engineering work, ensuring clear and concise communication with clients.
Requirements
~1 min read- A bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or another relevant engineering subject, or a technical qualification such as Técnico em Mecânica, Eletrotécnica or Eletromecânica combined with strong hands-on experience.
- At least 2 years' experience in technical roles within the Wind sector.
- Ideally some experience with borescope inspections or complex mechanical systems such as gas turbines, jet engines or rotating equipment. Experience from offshore oil and gas, mining or power generation is highly relevant.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to prepare and present detailed technical reports to clients.
- A proactive, curious approach to problem-solving and a desire to keep learning.
- A real interest in hands-on engineering, particularly wind turbine technology.
- Ability to work on-site and at height in wind turbines, onshore and offshore, and to work shifts as required, including weekends.
- Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision while working with regional and global teams.
- Fluent English, written and spoken, is essential. You'll be working with UK and European customers and colleagues every day. Additional languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, German or French are a plus.
- GWO certification is desirable. Work at height and electrical safety training (e.g. NR-35, NR-10) is also valued.
