Aviation Logistics Coordinator

Optime Group are looking for an experienced Aviation Logistics Coordinator to join a well-established, premium logistics operation specialising in the transportation of aviation and aerospace parts.

Our client manages complex and bespoke movements across Europe and as far as North Africa, supporting the movement of critical aviation parts where excellent planning, communication and attention to detail are essential.

This is not your standard logistics coordination position.

You'll be supporting complex, bespoke and often long-distance movements, coordinating everything from vehicles and routes through to drivers, timings and live journey updates.

With some movements covering thousands of miles and multiple countries, you'll need to be comfortable taking ownership, reacting to challenges and ensuring every job reaches its destination successfully.

We're looking for someone who is hands-on, proactive and comfortable thinking on their feet when plans change.

What's on offer?

• £35,000 per annum
• Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 18:00
• Full-time, permanent position

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and coordinating complex international transport movements
• Supporting bespoke and long-distance aviation and aerospace trips
• Coordinating movements across the UK, Europe and into North Africa
• Coordinating vehicles and drivers
• Planning routes, collections and delivery schedules
• Monitoring live movements from collection through to delivery
• Maintaining regular communication with drivers and operational teams
• Providing customers with accurate updates throughout their movement
• Reacting quickly to delays, route changes and operational challenges
• Ensuring transport and job information is accurate and up to date
• Taking ownership of individual movements through to successful completion
• Working closely with the wider logistics team to ensure a seamless operation
• Getting hands-on and supporting the operation wherever required

Requirements

• Previous experience within logistics coordination, transport planning, freight or truck coordination
• Strong understanding of UK and/or European road transport
• Comfortable coordinating long-distance and time-critical movements
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Confident dealing directly with drivers and customers
• Ability to manage several live movements at once
• Calm and solutions-focused when things don't go to plan
• Flexible, proactive and willing to get stuck in
• Previous aviation, aerospace or specialist logistics experience would be advantageous
