Sr. Network Engineer

Reporting to the Senior Director of Information Technology and Cybersecurity, the Senior Network Engineer is an individual contributor responsible for the reliability, performance, and security of enterprise networks across Orlando Magic facilities. You will support virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, cloud connectivity, and unified communications. You will lead technical projects, coordinate vendors, and mentor other internal IT employees. The position supports business and basketball operations and live events through advanced troubleshooting, resilient network design, documentation, and incident response.

• Design, administer, and troubleshoot enterprise routing, switching, wireless, WAN, Internet, SD-WAN, VLAN segmentation, high availability, QoS, and network access across facilities.
• Own network architecture, capacity planning, performance monitoring, and root cause analysis; recommend and implement improvements that reduce service disruption.
• Administer firewalls, network access controls, secure remote access, and network security policies; apply Zero Trust principles where appropriate and coordinate vulnerability remediation.
• Partner with cybersecurity staff on log review, threat detection, incident response, and secure network changes.
• Support data center networking and hybrid connectivity, including virtualization and hyperconverged platforms, storage networks, Azure and AWS networking, and backup and recovery dependencies.
• Work with infrastructure specialists to maintain resilient services and test disaster recovery and business continuity procedures against documented recovery objectives.
• Support the network requirements of enterprise voice, SIP, contact center, video conferencing, and collaboration platforms.
• Maintain monitoring, alerting, configuration records, diagrams, operating procedures, and recovery documentation; use scripts and automation to improve consistency and response times.
• Lead infrastructure implementation projects and coordinate vendors, service providers, and internal teams; evaluate solutions with attention to cost, security, and operational fit.
• Follow change, incident, problem, and configuration management processes; provide advanced support for critical business systems and live operations.
• Communicate technical status and risks clearly to business stakeholders and leadership; mentor junior IT team members through knowledge transfer.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and provide scheduled support for games, events, and maintenance windows; perform other related duties as assigned.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience accepted.
• A minimum of six years (6) of progressively responsible experience in enterprise networking, including hands-on design, deployment, administration, and complex troubleshooting is required.
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching, wireless, firewalls, WAN and Internet connectivity, segmentation, high availability, monitoring, and network security.
• Experience working with virtualization, hyperconverged or data center infrastructure, storage, backups, and hybrid cloud connectivity; depth in networking is the primary qualification.
• Familiarity with enterprise voice, video conferencing, SIP, and collaboration network requirements.
• Ability to use logs, monitoring tools, and systematic root cause analysis to restore services and prevent recurring incidents.
• Experience with technical documentation, change management, vendor coordination, and project delivery.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications used for documentation, communication, and reporting.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects.
• Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
• Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
