We have an opportunity for a Senior Buyer waiting just for you. Reporting into the Procurement Manager, this customer-facing role is responsible for supporting Daimler Truck and Bus Procurement Department (indirect goods and services only) in line with policies and processes of the organisation.

This is a part-time position (3 days per week) based in Milton Keynes, with a requirement for weekly travel across the UK to engage with internal stakeholders and suppliers. Working days can be agreed upon appointment, offering flexibility for the successful candidate.

This role supports a new and evolving area of the business, providing the opportunity for the successful candidate to shape and develop the function, while ensuring alignment with the Daimler Global Procurement Policy.

More about the role

• Represent Daimler Truck and Bus Company in the UK on nominated sourcing projects, developing expert knowledge of respective commodity category.
• Monitor ongoing supplier contracts, including performance, and lead commercial negotiations during tenders.
• Educate and support business units to minimise non-compliance and promote market competition.

• Meet regularly with business units to identify procurement requirements and implement appropriate processes.

• Ensure the timely raising of PO within systems and support SLAs.

About you

We are looking for a highly numerate and analytical Senior Buyer with excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels across the business, including board level, as well as externally. You will bring a strong understanding of economic principles, the wider economic environment, and organisational dynamics, alongside proven experience of contract law and the legislation involved in managing both formal and negotiated tenders of varying scale. Demonstrating robust negotiation expertise and a clear grasp of procurement principles, you will be able to plan, organise, and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to changing business needs. A collaborative approach is essential, with the ability to build strong relationships and work confidently with colleagues and partners at all levels, both internally and externally.
