General Manager CAMG – PNG Air

PNG Air is seeking an experienced aviation technical professional to join its CAMG Division in Port Moresby as General Manager CAMG. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager CAMG will be responsible for ensuring the continuing airworthiness of the PNG Air fleet while maintaining safety as a core consideration in all airworthiness-related decisions. The position has overall responsibility for maintenance control, maintenance forecasting and planning, regulatory compliance and approvals, and aircraft technical records. The successful candidate will provide senior technical leadership and ensure PNG Air aircraft are maintained in accordance with approved maintenance programmes, regulatory requirements and the Continuing Airworthiness Management Manual. Key Responsibilities Maintenance Control Ensure PNG Air aircraft and installed equipment are maintained in accordance with PNG CASA-approved maintenance programmes. Coordinate aircraft availability for required maintenance with Airline Operations and the CEO. Create, maintain and monitor aircraft Minimum Equipment Lists (MELs). Ensure aircraft discrepancies and defects are appropriately assessed, recorded, deferred or rectified. Ensure maintenance standards, procedures and certification requirements are met. Ensure modifications and repairs are completed using approved data and accurately recorded. Ensure applicable Airworthiness Directives are accomplished. Ensure relevant Service Bulletins and other continuing airworthiness information are assessed and actioned. Authorise extensions to Category B and C MEL items where appropriate. Review the effectiveness of internal and external maintenance arrangements. Advise the CEO on matters relating to aircraft airworthiness. Forecasting & Planning Manage systems used to forecast, plan and accomplish required aircraft maintenance. Ensure airworthiness limitations are not exceeded. Provide projected maintenance reports to management. Ensure maintenance providers receive appropriate Work Packs within suitable timeframes. Incorporate peak operational requirements into long-range maintenance forecasting. Maintain close coordination between Continuing Airworthiness planning and Part 145 production planning. Regulatory Compliance & Approvals Issue Special Flight Permits in accordance with CASA-approved continuing authorisation. Ensure aircraft are withdrawn from service where required maintenance cannot be completed or legally deferred. Liaise directly with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority on fleet airworthiness matters. Prepare amendments to the Continuing Airworthiness Management Manual. Control the production and distribution of the CAMM and aircraft MELs. Coordinate with the Regulatory Compliance & Safety Advisor. Implement corrective and preventative actions arising from CAMG audits. Maintain secure records of original aircraft airworthiness certificates and approvals. Aircraft Records Manage the airworthiness-control elements of aircraft maintenance tracking systems. Monitor aircraft, engine and component status. Monitor inspections, component lives, overhaul requirements and other maintenance events. Ensure aircraft logbooks are maintained accurately and in the prescribed manner. Requirements Candidates must have: Minimum 5 years' technical aviation experience Minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory position Clear knowledge and understanding of the maintenance sections of an airline/company exposition Clear knowledge and understanding of the applicable maintenance provisions of CA Rule Part 121 Hold or have previously held a LAME licence General airline experience Thorough knowledge of airline commercial/private operations Demonstrated senior leadership capability Clear knowledge and understanding of maintenance planning and cost control Benefits Employment Package The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary package of AUD 180,000–190,000 per annum, together with company-provided accommodation and transport. The package also includes four travel tickets per year.
