Upper School English Teacher Leave Position Spring 2027

The Packer Collegiate Institute invites applicants interested in teaching full-time Upper School English for the 2027 spring semester. Courses to be taught: two sections of 10th Grade English: The American Experience, one section of Science Fiction as Literature, and one section of Literature of America’s Rebels & Dreamers: Environment, Power, and Agency.

• Part-time position: December 14-17, 2026 and January 4-15, 2027

• Full-time position: February 1-June 16, 2027

This position entails teaching four sections of Upper School English and advising a small group of Upper School students. The teaching role requires close collaboration with other English teachers, as well as interdisciplinary grade-level teams.

• Comfort with the frequent use of educational technologies in the classroom and facility with electronic communication and learning management applications

• A commitment to anti-bias and anti-racism work and to promoting an inclusive, just, and equitable school community

• Experience with a broad range of instructional practices

• Exceptional writing skills

• Demonstrated commitment to the advancement of their teaching practice

• Comfort with and interest in working with students in an advisory capacity

• At least three years of upper school English teaching experience

• A Master’s degree (preferred)
