Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Design Manager to join our team! In this role you will be working on some state of the art mega projects and important clients.


Responsibilities

  • →Lead the integration and coordination of all design disciplines, including Infrastructure, Master Planning, Urban Planning, Urban Design, Public Realm, Landscape Architecture, Transportation, Utilities, Architecture, Sustainability, and Engineering.
  • →Manage multidisciplinary design interfaces and ensure all design packages are fully coordinated, consistent, and aligned with project objectives.
  • →Drive technical excellence through robust design reviews, technical assurance processes, and quality control procedures.
  • →Ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable standards, authority regulations, and industry best practices.
  • →Lead design coordination workshops and technical review meetings to proactively identify and resolve conflicts, risks, and interface issues.
  • →Oversee design delivery from concept through detailed design and construction support, ensuring quality, completeness, and constructability of all deliverables.
  • →Manage design schedules, key milestones, critical dependencies, and design sequencing to support overall project delivery objectives.
  • →Ensure infrastructure systems are fully integrated with planning and urban design objectives, including transportation, roads, utilities, water, wastewater, stormwater, irrigation, power, telecommunications, smart city systems, and public realm infrastructure.
  • →Coordinate closely with project management, commercial, procurement, construction, and stakeholder teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • →Monitor consultant performance and drive accountability for quality, coordination, and timely delivery of design outputs.
  • →Identify and mitigate technical, coordination, and delivery risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • →Promote collaboration and alignment across internal and external teams to achieve integrated, harmonious, and efficient project outcomes.
  • →Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, authorities, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • →Communicate effectively with diverse technical and non-technical audiences and facilitate timely decision-making.
  • →Champion design excellence, continuous improvement, innovation, and best practices across all disciplines.

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Experience delivering large-scale master-planned developments, urban environments, infrastructure programs, and mixed-use projects.
  • Hands-on experience with the integration of engineering/technical aspects, as well as procurement and construction activities
  • Proven ability to perform in a management capacity and ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in complex project environments.
  • Excellent knowledge in infrastructure design and the integration with building design, landscape.
  • Strong multidisciplinary design management and technical integration capabilities.
  • Thorough understanding of design sequencing, project delivery, and infrastructure development.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and oral communications skills.

  • Ability to meet Parsons’ project management certification requirements where applicable
  • Thorough knowledge of current industry practices and regulations
  • Knowledge of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on projects
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making abilities.
