Job Description:

Parsons is proud to be the selected PMC assisting our Client, in managing the full project delivery. Our scope is to oversee all activity of the design build contractor and to act as the client’s representative to all assigned contractors and stakeholders; providing assistance in all matters related to the design and construction of this iconic project.

Job Description

We are seeking to engage a Engineering Lead Bridge to provide leadership in the design of this highly technological project. You will take overall responsibility for the management of the design process and, working with the Contractor’s designers, work collaboratively to obtain necessary approvals and develop robust design solutions for this unique structure. You will provide guidance and clear direction to your department, even when faced with the most nuanced of obstacles and interface closely with the Client to ensure compliance of the Contractor’s design with the appropriate standards. We are targeting senior accomplished industry experts, in possession of a collaborative attitude and proven leadership capability.

Key Responsibilities

· Overseeing the planning of all bridge design and review activities in-order to identify key milestones and priorities.

· Determine the budget and staffing requirements for the defined design and review scope and schedule.

· Overseeing all aspects of design operations, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, within schedule and budget whilst maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality.

· Providing technical expertise and guidance on all design methodologies, collaborating with the relevant engineering teams to ensure that plans result in a structurally sound outcome.

· Managing workforce to ensure efficiency is maximized and set schedules are maintained within budget. Taking preventative action when required to ensure that critical milestones on project are met.

· Effectively managing all design department resource; including workforce planning, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.

· Ensuring the use of sound design and construction practices to safeguard quality control across the complete scope of work.

· Proactive leadership and management of the relevant stakeholders to the design department.

· Managing department budgets, procurement strategies and cashflow.

· Preparing and presenting periodic reports to summarize design activity progress for senior internal management in addition to external stakeholders.

· Mentoring and leading employees fostering an environment of

collaboration and innovation.

· Interfacing with and informing the Client, and their stakeholders, on all design related issues.

Required Skills

· 25+ years of experience in the civil engineering industry, predominantly secured within the design function on mega projects of a similar scope. A minimum 10+ years of experience within a similar level of seniority on a project of similar type and scale.

· University bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in addition to professional qualifications deemed relevant to the seniority of this role.

· Extensive experience in leading the design delivery on international mega-scale civil projects.

· Clear experience in handling public contracts and a defined comprehension of relevant Italian legislation.

· The successful candidate will possess proven experience of leading design works on large scale suspension bridge projects.

· Proven stakeholder management skills to c-suite and national representation levels e.g., Minister level interactions.

· Strong business acumen and the ability to make well-informed decisions based on data and analysis.

· Fluent in English. Italian language highly desirable.
