What you will be doing: Mentor, coach, and grow software engineers; foster a transparent, trusting, and collaborative culture. Partner with recruiting to attract and hire exceptional engineering talent. Own the architecture, design, and end-to-end delivery of the back-end integration platform. Contribute to design, solve complex integration challenges (C#, .NET, Azure), and enforce engineering standards for quality and reliability. Oversee delivery timelines, manage sprints, groom the backlog, and balance technical debt with fast, reliable delivery. Implement and continuously improve engineering processes (CI/CD, testing, monitoring) and lead post-mortems for system resilience. Collaborate with Product, Design, and Stakeholders to align technical priorities with business goals and define roadmaps. Clearly communicate progress and risks to leadership, and make strategic technical and resourcing decisions balancing immediate needs with long-term health. What our client is looking for: A relevant tertiary qualification would be ideal. Minimum 8 years in software engineering, with 3+ years in formal people/tech leadership. Proven success managing, mentoring, and scaling high-performance engineering teams (5-8+ engineers). Deep hands-on expertise in the Microsoft stack (C#, .NET, Azure, Function Apps) and modern integration patterns (API-led, event-driven). Demonstrated ability to design, build, and scale complex, high-volume backend services and integration platforms supporting large mobile/web products. Capable of steering architectural decisions, reviewing designs, unblocking teams, and contributing hands-on code when necessary. Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD, advanced testing, and observability. Ability to balance rapid delivery with strategic technical debt management and long-term architectural vision. Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and people leadership skills; experience with Agile frameworks. Track record of successfully delivering mobile-centric or product-focused technology at scale.
