Pathologist

PathGroup is seeking an AP/CP Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pathologist to join a growing team at a busy community-based regional medical center in Victoria, TX. This is a full-time, hospital-based position offering a broad case mix and strong collegial support. The ideal candidate will bring a team-focused approach, excellent diagnostic skills in general surgical pathology and cytopathology, and a commitment to high-quality pathology services.

• Work within an established pathology team at a high-volume acute-care hospital setting.
• Manage a wide variety of cases, with emphasis on general surgical pathology and cytopathology.
• No autopsy requirement, focusing on surgical and cytological diagnostics.
• Supported by PathGroup’s extensive network, including opportunities for consultation and mentorship across subspecialties.
• Engage in multidisciplinary tumor boards, quality initiatives, and lab improvement efforts alongside hospital clinicians.

• Serves as a major community referral hub in South Texas.
• Operating in a CAP-accredited laboratory with on-site histology and cytology support typical of PathGroup settings.
• Encourages active participation in hospital committees and interdisciplinary discussions.

• →Sign-out of general surgical pathology and cytopathology cases.
• →Frozen section interpretation and intraoperative consults.
• →Oversee clinical pathology functions and participate in quality assurance.
• →Active engagement in tumor boards and interdisciplinary clinical discussions.

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• AP/CP Board Certification or eligibility.
• Texas medical license or eligibility required.
• Strong diagnostic acumen and effective communication skills.
• Able to work independently, with access to regional and network support.
