Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced social media expert to play a pivotal role in the day-to-day management of PayPal's social media presence in Germany. This role is responsible for managing PayPal's German social media accounts, developing platform-first content that brings PayPal's brand, ideas and impact to life in a way that resonates with German audiences and clearly ladders to our global brand and business objectives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and natural collaborator who understands the German digital media landscape and can balance creative instinct with operational discipline to drive engagement and spark conversations with our target audiences. This person will serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external creative agency partners, ensuring best-in-class social media work across channels. Job Description: Essential Responsibilities: * Develop and articulate clear plans and priorities to execute marketing initiatives and meet team performance * Perform more-complex marketing campaigns using highly specialized brand marketing knowledge and advanced creative expertise * Lead some Marketing initiatives within PayPal's marketing function and may coordinate activities of vendors and agencies * Design brand marketing initiatives, campaigns and programs based on understanding of market trends * Determine opportunities to improve processes that may impact activities of others Minimum Qualifications: * 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications: What you will do: * Maintain and manage all existing PayPal Germany social media channels, owning the editorial calendar, scheduling content, and ensuring timely publication and quality assurance. * Develop platform-native social content tailored to German audiences — adapting wider marketing campaigns into social-first outputs that reflect local culture, trends, and audience behavior. * Serve as a key point of contact with creative agencies, providing strategic guidance, ideas and feedback during content development process. Conduit between the agency and internal stakeholders and responsible for quality assurance upon delivery of all final assets. * Own the legal and compliance review process for all German social media content, ensuring all feedback is properly addressed and content meets local regulatory requirements prior to publication. * Track and report on content performance (engagement, reach, follower growth, etc.); collaborate with global peers and agencies on consistent reporting frameworks, using insights and data to refine content strategy and improve results over time. * Act as a key point of contact for cross-functional teams including consumer marketing, merchant marketing, brand communications, corporate communications, talent acquisition and customer service. * Support influencer activity on an as-needed basis, collaborating with agency partners to brief and review creator content aligned to brand and campaign priorities. Qualities of the right candidate for this role: * 6-8 years of experience in social media marketing; experience managing multiple social accounts for a brand, ideally within a financial services, fintech, or large consumer brand context, is strongly preferred. * Native or near-native German speaker with strong English communication skills for global collaboration. * A social maven: an expert in social trends and platforms with a deep understanding of the German digital media landscape. * A great storyteller: exceptional writing and content skills in German and English, with a sharp eye for tone, voice, and brand consistency. * A collaborator: team player across functions and geographies, comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders and agency partners in a complex, matrixed organization. * A self-motivator: self-driven and resourceful, with impeccable attention to detail and high standards when it comes to content quality, brand integrity, and compliance. * A creative and analytical thinker: able to brainstorm social content ideas while using performance data and insights to make actionable recommendations.
