ENTRY LEVEL MANUFACTURING EXTRA HAND/LABORER POSITIONS PCA – Riverville Mill, a major producer of containerboard, is seeking applications for our Extra Hand/Laborer positions. The Extra Board is an entry-level position in which individuals are trained in different jobs in the Mill to cover vacancies. Extra Board colleagues work an unpredictable 12-hour shift schedule (days, nights, and weekends) which varies from week to week with little consistency. Prior applicants: if you have applied within a year, need not apply.   Basic Qualifications: Must have a High School or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Must be able to work entry-level jobs and be able to work in an industrial environment. Must be willing and able to work an unpredictable 12-hour shift schedule which includes: days, nights, and weekends that can change with very little notice. Must be willing and able to work overtime and work on most holidays. Experience in industrial work such as manufacturing, logging, warehousing, heavy equipment operation, or construction. Satisfactory completion of background check and drug screen. Key Responsibilities Operates routine production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications provided. Carry out routine activities that produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances. Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications. Maintains logs and records of units produced. Report any errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces. Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance. Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area. Follow safety regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience 2 years of relevant full-time work experience. Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machinery. Fundamental understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment. Preferred Qualifications: Pulp & Paper industry experience preferred. At least 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, equipment or process operations and equivalent skills in an industrial manufacturing environment. Tests and Board Interview: Those selected to go through the PCA hiring process will be asked to complete the WorkKeys Test at CVCC and take part in a structured board interview. A minimum test result score is required.
