E-Learning Specialist

While Georgian universities have integrated e-learning into their academic frameworks, it has not yet been integrated into secondary public schools or community colleges, leaving students without the necessary digital skills to succeed. As e-learning and hybrid learning technologies continue to emerge, faculty and staff are eager to develop their own digital skills, especially since e-learning specialists are scarce in the country.

As an E-Learning Specialist, you will collaborate with faculty to develop interactive e-learning courses and strengthen digital skills among both students and teachers. Alongside your colleagues, you will assess course performance analytics and make enhancements.

Competitive candidates will have one or more of the following criteria:

• Bachelor of Arts in Education technology or other relevant field
OR
• 2 or more years of teaching experience
OR
• 2 or more years of relevant digital/e-learning experience, such as using ICT to support learning, online instruction or experience developing digital learning resources

Volunteers will live in a mid-sized town or city and a reasonable distance from the work site either by foot or public transportation.

Strengthen e-learning techniques by working with a new curriculum.
Make lifelong connections with colleagues, community members, and a host family.
Experience Georgia’s hospitality and feasting customs in person.

Support the design and development of online courses that support diverse learning styles.
Train staff on applying instructional design principles to build interactive modules, videos, quizzes, and assessments.
Identify opportunities to integrate AI-assisted tools, gamification platforms, or virtual reality.
Evaluate and recommend appropriate tools, such as plagiarism checkers and adaptive learning platforms.
Monitor effectiveness of learning management systems using analytics.
Provide orientation to students on navigating the platform and digital libraries.

You may also work on additional projects that meet the community’s interests and priorities, such as employability skills and English proficiency.

After a 3-week orientation on topics such as health and safety, you will move to a town or city where you will collaborate with instructors, quality assurance specialists, IT teams, and organizational leadership. Together, you will assess the local needs and develop a work plan in line with their established goals.

Peace Corps/Georgia will equip you with Georgian language resources and you may work with a local tutor who can help you build basic language skills to connect with the community.
